Project Groups

The Project Groups initiative is to get members out and about and take photographs.
There is a strong social aspect to the groups.
Also there is help and advice available to any member who has any questions or problems.

For all the latest news on the Project Groups see Newsletter page.

The following groups are available at the moment, but if you would like any other groups to be considered please see a member of the committee and we will see what we can do:-

Many of the Project Group meetings are at Wrelton Village Hall, click here for a map.

The developers group is changing. We are welcoming members of the beginners digital group to learn more about the photography side of things and also welcome Harry to teach us more about the digital side of things.

We will have more structured meetings than before to combine the two disciplines which will hopefully make for better, more informed meetings.

The meetings will cover the following subjects:‐

  • Equipment. There is always somebody wanting to purchase something be it a tripod or Photoshop. We can have discussions at the meetings on the attributes or otherwise of say CS3 against Elements – cost, ease of use etc.
If you want to know more about any particular equipment please email us or speak to us at a club meeting so we can prepare for this.

  • Techniques. How to use certain items and do certain things i.e. sending images for printing and resizing, storage of images etc. Useful websites.

  • Practical. If each member brings in 1 image which they would like to discuss in detail or would like to see worked on with Photoshop.

  • Post Competition Discussion. To discuss the last competition, i.e. judges comments, our personal view and any positive suggestions from members.

  • Future events or competitions. To let members know when certain events e.g. Ryedale Art Exhibition or Ryedale Show Photography Competition are due.

  • Good locations. For the landscape photographers among us a general suggestion of places to go to get good images.

THIS IS YOUR GROUP, PLEASE TELL US WHAT YOU WANT, WE ARE HERE TO HELP YOU.
If you’d like more information please speak to Harry or Janet.
